Hajra Mansoor is awarded as "Ambassador of East". She is famous as Modern
Romanticist and is the senior most female international artist of Pakistan.
Hajra Mansoor passed from Govt. College of Art and Craft Lakhnow in 1964. She
organized Karachi School of Arts in Karachi and researched in creative synthesis
of painitng and entered in the evolution of periodical phases in life time work. Her
evolutionary periodics are Academic Realism, Classism, Oriental Intutionism,
Oriental formalism and Neo Romantism. She exhibited her solo shows every year
from 1963 to 2008 and also abroad including Bangladesh, India, China, Japan,
Turkey, Iran, France, England, Germany, HongKong, Tokyo, Mumbai and America.
She did her shows in in Grand Palace, Paris in 1984, in Gallery Alma Mosi, Paris
in 1985, in Gallery "Hans Haiden ham" Dusseldor, West Germany in 1988 and in
NewYork sponsered by United Nation in 2000.
Since her very begining she is the winner of top prizes and awards in
National/International exhibitions and specifically "Chughtai Award" sponsered
by Pakistan National council of Arts in 1996. In year 2009 she has been awarded
"Pride of Performance" by the President of Pakistan in recognition of her
meritorious services towards the development of art in Pakistan. In addition to the
above she has been declared "Safeer-e-Mashriq" of Pakistan.
At present she is living in Islamabad working in studio, running her own gallery and
museum. Instread of confiding her talent in her own self she is busy in introducing
new phases and techniques to the young generations in the spirit of promoting art
in Pakistan.
