Artist Statement

As an artist residing in Karachi, I draw inspiration from the diverse cultural and historical traditions that inform the visual landscape of this region. My interest in art was first kindled through my husband, himself a skilled artist, and I subsequently pursued formal training through a diploma program at Indus Valley School.

Through my work, I strive to capture the essence of the cultural, in which I find myself. My art is imbued with a sense of the vibrancy and energy of the people and places that surround me, and I am constantly seeking new ways to express the beauty and complexity of my surroundings through my chosen medium.

My artistic style is characterized by bold, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colors, which I use to convey a sense of dynamism and movement in my work. I aim to imbue each piece with a sense of life and vitality that reflects the spirit of the communities in which I live and work.
