Saeed Aktar was born in 1938 he moved to Quetta, Baluchistan Pakistan at a very early age.

His paintings:

His paintings are exhibited all over Pakistan and internationally and have wide acclaims among the Pakistani art lovers. His paintings are like mirror where you can easily see, his years of tireless efforts. We can simply compare his art work with other legendary artists like Gulgee and Jamil naqsh.

In recent years he has been much acclaimed for his paintings of horses, the dazzling Buraq series, and a series of bejeweled and slender female figures. In his women paintings, he has reflected changing emotions, postures, very beautifully. He portrayed unique style in painting these womanly figures which creates a long-lasting impression for viewer. In some of his Pakistani paintings, in which women are wearing jewllery, has inspirtation from Rajhistani culture.

Career:

He is a former National College of Art Professor, who began his art training as one of Shakir Ali’s early students in the sixties. In his final year at the college, Saeed worked in sculpture and later was to teach the discipline. After graduating from NCA, Akhtar joined its teaching staff. His major commission from this time is the portrait of Quadi-e-Azam Muhamad Ali Jinnah 1970.

A year’s scholarship at the Academia of Higher Art, Florence, gave Saeed the opportunity to study art restoration. He travelled widely visiting museums and galleries in Spain, UK, France and Germany. He is the recipient of many awards and honours and has represented Pakistan in numerous exhibitions internationally.

Saeed says that colors are like life for him and in paintings when he interests and joins lines, and fills colors it gives satisfaction. Saeed Akhtar has a fondness for creativity as he conveys intricate messages by indulging in his most passionate pastime; painting. The veteran artist is truly an inspiration for the upcoming young generation artists.

In the year 1993 he received the Pride of Performance award.

2011 Received Sitara-i-Imtiaz.

Akhtar was commissioned to design Pakistan's largest stamp issue consisting of 27 stamps
